Candy Is Dandy, But Wine Is Divine
November 2012:
This year when planning your list of goodies to pass out to friends, co-workers, the mailman and neighbors try bottles of wine instead of boxes of candy. The Grammy award winning San Francisco rock band "Train" founded in 1994 also founded 'Save Me, San Francisco Wine Company' which makes award winning wines.
You may ask why pass out this wine for gift giving? Well, for starters it's really good wine. There is something here for all palates to taste; California 37 Cabernet Sauvignon, Hella Fine Merlot and Drops of Jupiter Chardonnay. There is another reason to purchase these award winning wines during the season of giving. The profits from the sale of Train's wines are donated to 'Family House' (click) which provides temporary housing to the families of seriously ill children being treated at the University of San Francisco Benioff Children's Hospital.
I had difficulty sourcing these wines from my local retailers, it does not rest on the shelf for very long. So prepare and plan ahead with an online order directly through www.savemesanfranciscowineco.com. Order a case or two for giving, be sure to save a couple bottles for yourself. I think it is more fun to open and share a bottle of wine than a box of candy...waddya think?
December marks the end of a long year of going to work and bill paying, end of an election cycle, end of a tax year and a season of giving. Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa share the traditions of family, food and gifts. Forgive me if I missed anyone.
