A newly graduated journalist seeks employment only to find the one offer scored is to be the personal assistant to a very demanding uber luxury fashion magazine editor in New York City. This job is one that "a million girls would kill for".

Wonderfully entertaining movie very loosely based on the persona of ice-queen herself Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief VOGUE-US. You will see more than Prada. There are fur fashions, handbags, shoes and accessories abound. TRIVIA-Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) wore actual high-end vintage jewelry. A real Valentino Paris runway show was added to the story as it was showing simultaneously to this film shoot.

"Prêt-à-Porter" (Ready To Wear), 1994 Comedy/Drama (nudity)
Kim Basinger
Sophia Loren
Julia Roberts
TRAILER: http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi198221337/

Total fiction, very funny and a bit naughty...Okay a lot naughty. All the inner workings of putting on a fashion show in Paris, Everything goes wrong, everything goes right, intrigue, murder, obsessions, black male, supermodels and of course clothes. Written and directed by Robert Altman with a cast list that is very generous. A who's who of Hollywood, fashion models and designers in their outrageous designs, petty jealousies and overt attacks will have you blushing, cackling and rolling your eyes in amazement.  The final runway show will take your breath away.

Sex and the City", 2008 Comedy/Drama/Romance
Sara Jessica Parker
Kim Cattrall
Kristin Davis
Cynthia Nixon
TRAILER: http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi1977811225/

This may be more aptly titled "A Young Girls' Fantasy".Did you watch the television show 'Sex and the City? Then you must have seen this film, fans of this story line are absolutely rabid. It has however been accused of being nearly 2 and 3/4 hours of commercial product placement but following the romance antics of 4 women "on the make", clad in their fanciful street wear in New York City is quite amusing with mindlessly titillating.

"Blow Dry", 2001 Comedy/Drama/Romance (nudity)
Alan Rickman
Heidi Klum
Josh Hartnett
TRAILER: http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi2481888793/

~Honorable Mention~
This film earns its place among fashion movies. A British hair style competition in the outskirts of London will have you laughing, crying, cheering and sighing. Admittedly actor Alan Rickman is a favorite of mine among the acting elite. Are you a fan of HBO's "Six Feet Under"? Rachel Griffiths (Brenda Chenowyth) beams her own light in the final scene of the Total Look round of this championship. Is her stunningly original design enough for the win? Heidi Klum gives a wonderful performance complete with a hairdo that is not necessarily on her head. <wink wink> This film rarely makes it to the fashion movie list but you will thank me for the recommendation. The hairstyles are stunning and inspirational.

After watching all six of my fashion fliks you will have earned the crown and bestowed upon you honorary degree of FASHIONISTA at the end of your name!
